Kia Ora and Welcome to 2021. I hope this email connects us to St Joseph, grounds us with our God in the ordinary and in community.

Go to Joseph

Could you identify with feeling like a lost minion in 2020?  Yea, me too.

One good thing to come from the end of 2020 was a powerful apostolic letter from Pope Francis - proclaiming a year dedicated to St Joseph.

Cup of Joe

To celebrate and commemorate this year dedicated to St Joseph, I have created a special mug design. Perhaps we might go to St Joseph with a cup of Joe?

These will be printed 'on demand' - reducing waste, helping others and creating community in a new way.

Coming soon...

Inspirational Things

Images // Videos:

> Earth Altars: Love a good mandala? Learn how Laura Loescher began creating Earth Altars / Earth Mandalas. This simple process has been healing and life changing for her, perhaps it can be for you or your community too?

> Bending the Arc Film: The story of Harvard medical student Paul Farmer, idealistic physician Jim Yong Kim and activist Ophelia Dahl. Their revolutionary model of training community members as health workers and treating all people with world-class medicine has forever changed public health. St Joseph would be proud! The story of Fr Jack is particularly tissue worthy. More info here, watch on Netflix or the NCR article

Sounds:

> Honorable Harvest: Hear the very wise Robin Kimmerer (Native American / Author / Professor) describe the concept sharing with nature & modelling that behaviour... "every breath that you take, is a breath made for you by plants."

> Episode 156 - Criminal Podcast: In 1982, Sister Helen Prejean was invited to write a letter to a man on death row. Two years later, she was in the execution chamber. Hear her incredible story.

> 2020 is a Song: An incredibly unique time capsule of music, that got us through the days of 2020, as remembered by you.

Words:

> Patris Corde (With a father's heart): The short but powerful apostolic letter from Pope Francis  proclaiming a year dedicated to St Joseph. We can discover in St Joseph "an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble."

> Australian Catholics Starter Guide + resources for: Students + Staff + Parents

> 100 Thousand Folds: A collaborative hands on sculpture project to commemorate those lost by the coronavirus pandemic. You too can get involved.

Food For Thought

“Let St Joseph’s true children remember their mission and seek first the poorest, most neglected parts of God’s vineyard”
~ St Mary MacKillop 6.3.1900

It is far too easy to discourage, all too easy to criticise, to complain, to rebuke. Let us try instead to see even a small amount of good in a person and concentrate on that. Let us be quicker to praise than to find fault. Let us be quicker to thank others than to complain.” ~ Desmond Tutu
---

"Like good art, a cosmic myth—like the Gospel—gives us a sense of belonging, meaning, and most especially, a personal participation in it."
Stories are Essential (Fr Richard Rohr)
