Preparing for Life after Graduation

We first want to thank you, Educators, Guardians, Para, Custodial, and more

In this blog, we will discuss

  • Graduation Preparation
  • Life after Graduation and the Following Steps

Graduation Preparation

Before Graduating, have a student look at what they want to do at least 1-2 years before graduation, such as

  • Finding interests they may have
  • Career Opportunities that may exist
  • Comparing schools from cost, programs, and other factors they may exist
  • Professional Organizations to interview, find a mentor, and learn more about an industry
  • Scholarships that may exist as they may qualify for certain ones and not just focus on the ones that pay the most since every penny counts
  • Not feeling they need to major in a field they may not be interested in

Higher Education, Trade Schools, and the Military can help them to know that they may have endless opportunities.

Life after Graduation and the Following Steps

A student may think once they finish Higher Education, Trade School, or the Military, they may not know what to do?

  • Continue some of the steps for Graduation Preparation
  • They should be an officer or get more involved within the Professional Organization
  • Seek Internships from paid and unpaid as they will need experience
  • Take part in a service learning project or ways to help within the area they are at
  • Keep building skills and showcasing them by going into competition, as it can lead to awards and scholarships
  • Learn of other majors or interests they may want to be by joining student organizations of those majors
  • Attending and volunteering at Career and internship fairs to learn about different industries and learn from recruiters about what they look for in candidates

More tips and resources exist, but here is a snapshot of how it can help students, or others, to succeed and have a blueprint.
