Wednesday Meeting Transitioning to Twice Monthly

Our Wednesday evening virtual groups will no longer be using their legacy name starting in January; this one combined group will only meet twice on the first and third Wednesday of the month. Consult our Support Groups​ page for more details.

Facilitator and Board Openings

National is offering facilitator training. Please let us know if you would like to become a facilitator for DBSA NCA, or would like to represent the population of our chapter by filling a seat on our board, by emailing Alvin at: [email protected]. The treasurer position on our board is open as of January 2024. You will be responsible for reporting bank transactions and financial activity to the board at quarterly meetings, keeping track of monthly expenses, and making transfers as necessary.

DBSA NCA Seeks Volunteers

DBSA NCA is seeking volunteers for the following two positions:

1. Social Media Coordinator: A social media coordinator is needed to help DBSA NCA manage its presence on its various social media platforms. Tasks include posting various items on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter to generate positive feelings towards DBSA NCA.

2. Community Outreach Coordinator: A volunteer is needed to manage outreach to various local government and community organizations. Tasks include researching key contacts with local government and community organizations as well as scheduling meetings with key contacts at local government agencies and community organizations.

Next to Normal January 24 – February 25 at Round House Theater 4545 East-West Highway, Bethesda, MD 20814 - More about this musical here: Next to Normal: Tackling Stigma on the Stage | bpHope.com

If you would like to attend the "relaxed" Sunday February 18 at 2:00 PM performance of Next To Normal with discussion to follow, tickets will be $46, $62, and $83 (for various seating areas). A number of DBSA NCA members will be going to this showing, but you will have to purchase your own ticket.

Content Warning: Next to Normal includes depictions of various mental health conditions and disorders including bipolar disorder, anxiety, and grief. The production also includes depictions and discussion of drug use, self-harm, death, and medical trauma.

Round House is in downtown Bethesda at the corner of East West Hwy and Waverly. It is about a block from the Bethesda Metro Station.
