WELCOME TO THE TEAM TENT!

What is the Ridgewood Crew Parent Tent?

One of the things that makes our regattas so much fun is the Team Tent, which serves as Base Camp and gives the team and their families a place to gather, eat, relax and cheer the Ridgewood Crew Team to VICTORY! We set up a large hospitality tent on the river banks at every regatta, and provide food and drinks all day long for the team members and the enthusiastic families that come to watch them race! Parents bring lawn chairs and settle at the tent for the day to watch all of the races, or simply stroll up and down the river to watch the action from all different perspectives. We serve coffee and breakfast beginning at 8 am, have snacks on hand throughout the day, and serve lunch beginning at 11:30 am.

At the coach's request, we make every effort to ensure that healthy, nutritious food is available. If your child has specific dietary restrictions, please send those food items with your child. Ridgewood Crew owns a trailer which is used to store and transport all of the tent equipment, supplies, and food to and from each regatta.

Wow, this sounds amazing. How does all of this work?

In order for this to work smoothly and effectively, we need your help! Each family is asked to volunteer for ONE SHIFT at ONE regatta, and bring ONE FOOD ITEM to that regatta. Please note that you do not need to be attending that particular regatta to provide food, as it can be dropped off the day prior. If you do not sign up for a weekend, you will be assigned a weekend. If you can not volunteer the weekend that you sign up for, you are responsible for getting a substitute

SHIFT 1 - SET UP (7 am - 11:30am) The morning shift entails taking all of the equipment and food from the trailer and setting up the tent and tables. It also entails the morning food setup and preparation.

SHIFT 2 - BREAKDOWN (11:30am - 4pm) The afternoon shift entails keeping food refreshed and supplied throughout the afternoon. It also entails breaking down the tent, tables and grill and loading back into the trailer.

OK, I am ready to help! How do I SIGN UP?

Simply use this link http://signup.com/go/gSoaiL to pick a date and sign up for your shift and food item. Food items will be assigned and emailed to you the week before a regatta once the menu and theme for the day have been decided.

How do I decide what regatta and shift to choose?

For the first three regattas, the Manny Flicks, please note that the boys and girls row either in the morning or afternoon. You can choose the shift when your child is rowing, but not mandatory. The remaining regattas are mixed, and your rower may or may not row throughout the day. Pick a shift that best suits you, and cover or swap your shift if the times don’t work.
