Things I found, things I am saving for winter

Cory's Pinecone Mound

Hi Fam! Here are some valuable things I found this week:

When Lola Visits

If you like bookstagram then you should check out Michelle Sterling. The picture books she shares are very beautiful and often unique. Many of these books end up on my reading list. She is also the author of When Lola Visits, a beautiful book that is due for release on May 18.

  • It’s been a few years since the record breaking space jump, but I watched it again, with as much anxiety as the first time. Where does that confidence come from?!
  • Take a quick look at some of these, particularly Aaron Sorkin and Amanda Gorman (you’ll have to do a search) or read the whole thing.
  • Carmen Saldana is creating beautiful animals and landscapes on instagram.
  • Printable coloring pages are available at my shop!

In an Illustration critique this week I wondered, how tight should your sketches be if you are painting loosely? If your art bleeds and blends is a tight sketch simply a lie? A betrayal of yourself? I tend to think that your sketch should feel like the end product. If that means the sketch is loose, then so be it.

"Trust the vibes you get, energy does not lie."
