| CELEBRATING 10 YEARS! The Spring 2018 season marks a big milestone: we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary and have a lot to be proud of! Thanks to the embrace of enlightened librarians, teachers, reviewers, and parents, children’s comics are thriving even when much of publishing is in the doldrums. In ten years, we’ve printed over 1.3 million of our fifty or so books. They’re in tens of thousands of libraries with the TOON Comics Curriculum now used in more than 1,200 schools. It’s hard to believe that just a decade ago, the vision to publish high-quality, early-reader hardcover comics was rejected by every major publisher—but, in the end, founder and Editorial Director Françoise Mouly couldn’t be happier to have launched on her own. Thanks to a minuscule but dedicated staff, Marketing Director Kimberly Guise, and Deputy Iru Ba, TOON has preserved quality and handmade care in every one of the four or five titles by top-notch contributors published each year.
