LOOKING BACK AT AUGUST 2021

LOOKING BACK AT AUGUST

Picture

Looking back over August it is no wonder I feel like I need a break from the summer! I have attended a number of virtual festivals and received several digital premieres and performances of works including Murmurations for piano with six hands performed by Arc Project, To know the dark for mixed ensemble performed by Brightwork ensemble at INMF Festival, Tucked Beneath for solo baritone and piano performed by

Daniel Klein and Felix Jarrar at Fresh Squeezed Opera Vocal Lab and Dispersions in Watercolour for solo violin performed by Kyra Davies at New Music Gathering. I have become an RPS 2021-22 composer resulting in a commission with Music in the Round, writing for Ensemble 360. I also now have professional representation from Polyphony Arts. Read more below

Murmurations for piano with six hands

This concert featured four new works for the piano, each played by three performers. Composers for this project were encouraged to explore the piano outside of the 88 keys.

TO KNOW THE DARK FOR MIXED ENSEMBLE

To know the dark was commissioned by the Impulse New Music Festival 2021, for the Los Angeles-based Brightwork ensemble.
