The most important thing? | |
Hello to you from Joyful Mind.
I heard an interesting quote recently:
“The most important thing is to make the most important thing the most important thing.”
Phew (wipes brow sweat).
What’s your most important thing?

I think mine has to do with being present and snapping out of automatic pilot, especially when I’m grouchy and down a rabbit hole. That’s what’s important to me. To be truly and joyfully alive while actually alive. It’s kinda a no-brainer … and easier said than done.
What do you reckon?

Enjoy a podcast?
I've come across this one recently (yup, it's where I got the cryptic quote!)
Kwik Brain by Jim Kwik (I wonder if that's his real name?)
Jim suffered a brain injury at age five, and later "discovered that, no matter the circumstances, we can rebuild our brains. And after working on myself, I realized my brain was not broken…it just needed a better owner’s manual. This shattered my own limiting beliefs – and over time, it became my passion to help others do the same."

We're doing a stint on The Crown again. I had watched Season 1 with dad, in the last weeks of his life. An ex-journo, who'd even interviewed the Queen Mother back in the day, he absolutely loved it!! What a classy production, each episode like a separate, well-researched mini movie.
It's a nice way to remember him, watching the later episodes with my partner Nish.

News! I’ve put a free meditation on my website. Yay! (What took you so long, you may ask. Yeah, I know. Sometimes the obvious things aren’t the ones we get around to. Life.)
It’s a calming, soothing guided meditation with the breath as focus, and some relaxing music in the background. You can listen right here on the page.
I hope you love it.
Please make time to nurture your spirit!

What a beautiful summer we’ve had. Ocean, beach umbrellas, dolphin sightings. Such a relief to be bushfire-free on the east coast. Oh, the rain. I’d forgotten. It’s like manna from heaven. Water falling out of the sky is a joy to be celebrated.
Psst, another of those catchy sayings: “what you appreciate, appreciates!”

Wishing you all a happy autumn,
and the joy of taking time out to recharge your battery.
