"Reimagine Policing Plan" – final opportunity for youth feedback!

Survey

Since 2021, the City of Boulder, Growing Up Boulder, and Mayamotion Healing have worked with more than 500 Boulder young people to provide input on the Boulder Police Department’s Master Plan. We now request youth feedback on the final draft of the plan.  We invite Boulder's youth to review the summary plan and answer questions about it; as a "thank you" for their time, young people completing this survey are eligible to receive a free, small Nothing Bundt Cake cake! For questions, contact [email protected].

"Healing Toolkit Training" at BVSD

“I wanted to thank all of you for a very beneficial and impressive evening. You put your hearts and souls into this in order to benefit others. We felt your passion and your love. I will definitely be sharing your ideas with others. You are a powerful group who is healing the world.”

--Healing Toolkit Training participant, BVSD teacher

In response to the March 2021 Table Mesa Tragedy, GUB and partner Mayamotion Healing received a grant to help young people heal from the tragedy.  After creating a "Healing Day of Remembrance" in April 2022, Boulder youth wanted to do more.  Therefore, this past fall GUB, MMH, and young people created a "Healing Toolkit" to offer healing tools to others--that is, other youth, adult allies, and other communities.

On April 19, 2023, Growing Up Boulder, Mayamotion Healing and two youth from the Youth Leadership Healing Committee (YLHC) facilitated an emotionally powerful Healing Toolkit Training at Boulder Valley School District's (BVSD's) Education Center for teachers, school counselors, administrators, and community partners. Now our Healing Toolkit is being integrated in BVSD's curriculum and will offer more resources to help children and youth cope with stressors in their lives.

Their next engagement will be at the child-friendly Junkyard Social Club on May 17 from 4-6 pm. Congrats to the City's Planning team for working towards child-friendly engagements!
