“FOOD FOR FINES” AT THE OXNARD PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Oxnard Public Library sponsored a "Food for Fines" program during the holiday season.  Patrons were able to return their overdue or lost items along with one canned food donation for each item and have the fines and/or fees waived for those items. Canned food was donated to Food Share and the City of Oxnard’s Police Activities League, to help provide food to needy members in the community.  A total of 613 books were returned to the collection, 737 cans of food were donated, and a total of $1,982 in fines were waived.
