Megan Ross has been fermenting vegetables for over a decade, and has a wealth of knowledge to offer. ALL ARE WELCOME to join us! Free Fermentation Workshop Saturday, 6/17 | 11:00am - 12:30pm Megan will teach us about the basic history and health benefits of fermentation. She will also lead us in a demonstration on how to ferment your own pickles. You will have the option of paid participation in putting together your own jar of fermented pickles that you will get to take home with you! * Bring your notebook and a pen so you can take notes! *Participation in the workshop is first-come first-serve as fermentation kits are limited. Payment to cover the cost of the kit is required prior to the workshop (local organic ingredients will be provided free of charge). Free Samples We will be grilling up some local pasture raised bratwurst from Firsthand Foods (Durham, NC), and serving samples alongside K Culture Ferments all natural kraut (Hillsborough, NC) and Lusty Monk Original Sin Mustard (Candler, NC). Live Music If you were with us through COVID, you remember John Mac and his Saturday afternoon singing at the store. We are excited to have him back with us to play some tunes, along with some of his students that will also share their talents on this day.
