“We are made for goodness. We are made for love. We are made for friendliness. We are made for togetherness. We are made for all of the beautiful things that you and I know. We are made to tell the world that there are no outsiders. All are welcome: black, white, red, yellow, rich, poor, educated, not educated, male, female, gay, straight, all, all, all. We all belong to this family, this human family, God's family.”

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Pathways Retreat’s Mystic of the Month is Desmond Tutu (1931 - ), a South African Anglican cleric and theologian known for his work as an anti-apartheid and human rights activist.

Hospitality Update

Picture

Pathways Retreat is now open for individual day retreats! The cottage and lower level rooms of the retreat house may be reserved here. Only one guest at a time will be scheduled for the retreat house rooms. In addition, there will be a 3-day gap between guests using the same space.

July Sabbatical Plans

This year, Pathways’ typical pattern of taking a sabbatical for the month of July will be modified. As usual, we will take a sabbatical from our rhythm of prayer. However, we will continue to offer hospitality for individual retreats. Consider a day of solitude and silence at Pathways this summer!

Introducing Janell Stoltzfus

Picture

Pathways is pleased to introduce our new part-time Administrative Assistant, Janell Stoltzfus.  Janell spends her days caring for her two young children, gardening, sourdough baking, reading, and spending time in nature whenever she can.  Janell has been married to Jeremy for 11 years, during which they have enjoyed many adventures and many cups of coffee together.  Janell’s job description includes website administration, social media, scheduling and accounting. Please join us in welcoming Janell to Pathways – as she schedules your retreats and welcomes you!

Iona Healing Prayer

Pathways offers healing prayers every Monday at noon (currently via zoom). Pathways joins the Iona Abbey and many other places around the world in praying this liturgy weekly. If you have a request for prayer, please complete the request form and we will include your request in our Monday prayer.

You are invited to pray through last Monday's prayer. This can be done individually or as a group.

Land Remains Open

Picture

Our trails and labyrinths remain open. We invite you to use them during these spring days as temperatures warm and days lengthen.

Time in nature may be one of the most important ways to cope with the uncertainty and stress of living with the pandemic. And slowing down to experience nature in a prayerful, mindful way may be the best way to be outdoors.

As you come to Pathways, please stay 6 feet away from other guests.

Many are experiencing rough and uncertain financial times…these next words are not for you. If you are able, please consider supporting Pathways financially so that we can continue to serve those in need of rest, reflection and renewal.
