IMPORTANT REMINDERS FOR FUND HOLDERS

Picture

These are important reminders to our fund holders. Please reach out to our office if you have questions.

  • All checks to endowment funds MUST be made out to the Community Foundation with the name of the fund written on the memo line only. Due to bank regulations, we cannot accept donations made out to other organizations or to the name of the fund. Checks made out incorrectly will be returned.
  • All gifts requiring a charitable donation receipt must be deposited directly by the Community Foundation. Organizations should never deposit donations requiring a charitable endowment receipt directly into their account.
  • The Community Foundation will promptly issue a tax receipt and thank you letter directly to the donor. We will provide the organization with the donor's contact information. We recommend the organization send an acknowledgement note to the donor within a reasonable amount of time; however, a tax receipt is not to be provided by the organization.

SUBMIT YOUR NEED: NONPROFIT NEEDS LIST

Each year, the Community Foundation distributes a list of current, tangible needs of regional nonprofits to interested donors. If you are eligible and wish to submit a need for the list, please complete the online form by October 6, 2024. Submissions received after this date will be added only as time allows.

One form may be submitted per nonprofit. Submissions received by the deadline will be listed online and promoted to potential donors throughout the year-end and holiday seasons.

Examples may include office supplies, lumber, HVAC maintenance, paint and labor, technology training, medical equipment, office desk, iPad,folding tables, conference room chairs, etc.

Please note that broad, umbrella funding requests (non-specific operational support, season or event sponsorships, etc.) will not be included. The Community Foundation reserves the right to not include a need they deem ineligible or inappropriate for the list.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) (check Tax Exempt Organization Search) OR under current agreement with the Community Foundation for fiscal sponsorship/special project
  • An office located in Grand Forks, Walsh, or Polk Counties and provides services, projects, or programs that directly benefit residents of at least one of these counties
