ITAT Takes Down Tobacco

During the month of March, our ITAT students worked hard to spread the word about the Take Down Tobacco initiative, a nation-wide annual call to action for tobacco cessation and education. Our island teens shared presentations with middle schools in their area and warned the middle school students about the dangers of vaping and tobacco.

Our youth showed their creativity and chose to create presentations on vape/tobacco related topics they felt were important. They performed a skit called "three little pigs" that displayed an example of persistent peer pressure to use cigarettes. They also presented on peer pressure and vaping/tobacco cessation tips and resources.

Along with these presentations our ITAT students facilitated games and activities to make their information interactive and memorable.

Our ITAT students also advocated to their school administrators about the need for anti-vaping signage in school bathrooms. Pictured below are one of the signs they had placed!

We are so proud of our ITAT teens for their advocacy and leadership work during this important initiative! Work with us to Take Down Tobacco!
