Yours in the dharma UPCOMING COURSES & EVENTS WHITE TARA RETREAT AND EMPOWERMENTS WITH HIS HOLINESS THE 42ND SAKYA TRIZIN His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin has generously accepted the invitation of Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe and the Drogmi Buddhist Institute Committee to hold a White Tara Retreat and bestow the King Tradition Avalokiteshvara empowerment, Six Dome White Tara empowerment and Vajrakilaya Torma empowerment. All three empowerments offered are common to all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. White Tara is a very important deity for longevity and good health. This is a great opportunity to attend this White Tara Retreat lead by such a blessed and historical figure. It is important to note this is the first time the major empowerment King Tradition Avalokiteshvara will be given in Australia. RAFFLE OF EIGHT AUSPICIOUS SYMBOL PAINTINGS –DRAWN ON 26 APRIl Funds raised from the raffle will be directed to replacing office equipment damaged in the recent thunderstorm when lightning struck the Gompa at Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre. Any surplus funds will be directed to upgrading the water system and fixtures. The eight symbols appear throughout Buddhist iconography both separately and as a set. Together they symbolise the spiritual path that leads to freedom from suffering and the permanent inner peace of enlightenment. There are eight paintings framed and dedicated, painted by local artist Glenda Morgan. Read More RECENT EVENTS Chotrul Düchen – Festival of Miracles It was a very special day at the centre, Khenpo la and sangha members commemorated Chotrul Düchen, also known as the ‘Festival of Miracles’. This auspicious day coincided with Khenpo la’s birthday and all of us wish and pray for Khenpo la’s long healthy life. Many flower offerings were made and lamp offerings were lit to mark the occasion. Khenpo la lead meditation and prayers. Lael offered a delicious Birthday cake for Khenpo la, which all enjoyed afterwards at morning tea. It is wonderful to be sharing these very special spiritual days together... Read More The Bau Sen Buddha Ru Yi Temple, Kinglake Khenpo la completed a very successful visit to The Bau Sen Buddha Ru Yi Temple at Kinglake, Victoria in mid-February, 2019. Over the weekend Khenpo la gave a dharma talk on “Transforming Difficulty to Positive”, conducted a tour of the temple and led a guided meditation session “Meditation - Bringing Calm and Peace to our Life”. ...
