Mark your calendars! Saturday, March 4, we will host our second annual Plant Season Kickoff event. We have some great things in store for you.

INFORMATIVE TALKS/Q+AS

This year we will have four different "workshop" sessions.

11:15a - 11:45a | Melvin York | Daddy Pete's Plant Pleaser | Focus: details/importance of organic soils, mulch + composts

12:00p - 12:30p | Mary Roberts | Windcrest Organic Farm | Focus: growing lavender in the Piedmont

12:45p - 1:15p | Bill Oros | Master Gardener + Cabarrus County Extension Office Rep. | Focus: soil health, testing + amending

1:30p - 2:00p | Mike Esposito | Green Thumb Gardens | Focus: organic gardening practices + tips for beginner gardeners

DINING OPTIONS

11:00a - 2:00p

Arrive early so you can grab some grub before our workshops begin. We are excited to host HotBox Next Level Kitchen (Concord, NC), and Taco Green-go (Charlotte, NC) food trucks.

Both of these amazing chefs focus on made-from-scratch dishes full of flavor and fresh ingredients. They are both also dedicated to compostable food service packaging. I'm not sure which truck I will visit for lunch...maybe both? :)

STAY FOR A WHILE

While we do have some tables and chairs available, please feel free to bring a picnic blanket and/or chairs, grab a nice spot on the lawn, and enjoy the day with your loved ones.

We are always happy to provide a place for you to spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of the daily routines we all fall into.

Please keep in mind that our store is on private property and we are to stay within the area of the store, barn + cabin. Thank you for understanding.

Fact of the Week: Now is the time that is best to prune tree, bushes, and shrubs before new growth starts. Make sure to choose a dry day when it won'r rain for a day or two. Trim away any dead limbs/canes, and trim back about one-third of last year's growth. It is also time to fill up your raised beds and add compost so that the soil is ready for planting in a few weeks.
