We trust that you had a nice summer and hope you have been taking your 4-legged family members with you on your walks and runs. We are excited to be offering another week long virtual run to benefit ColdSprings Healing Paws again in a few weeks! We understand that some of you may wish we would have an in-person event but we have realized that doing it virtually ensures that all the money donated to the event goes directly to the foundation and not the land-owners who we would have to pay in order to pull off an in-person event. We had a super successful virtual event in June and hope we can rally up that same great energy! The Virtual Race will work a little differently. You will have 7 days (September 26-October 3) to complete a 5K (3.1 miles) run, location of course is your choice, and difficulty level will be your choice. You will use the honor system and record your time of your 5K and will submit your time to us via a link we will send to you when we send you your bibs. We would love it if you could take a photo of yourself and your dog, if they chose to participate, after your run together and post it on the K9CROSS Facebook page and any other social media channels you may use. We are hoping to make this a frequent event that will help benefit ColdSpring Healing Paws Foundation, located in New Ipswich NH and specializes in training canines and handlers for the purpose of helping people with special needs as well as training and certifying canines for therapy work. Their goal is to mentor and prepare you to leave an impact with a highly trained dog. Please refer to the website for details of the virtual run. Each of you will be receiving your bib via email, so be on the lookout for those from this email address in the next couple of weeks. Grab your running shoes and a dog if you have one and join the virtual 5K to help make a difference in the lives of others! HOW THIS WORKS: • Fill out this form for each participant, by September 25, 2020 • Complete a 5K (3.1 miles - a route of your choice) walk or run between September 26-October 2 (while observing social distancing of course!) • Send us your results on our online form (your confirmation email will include instructions) • Post your pics on our Facebook page @MonadnockRegionK9Cross #coldspringshealingpaws #monadnockregionk9cross • Results will be posted on website and will be announced on the Monadnock Region K9Cross facebook page • We will mail you your award (post a pic of you and your dog with your award from the virtual race) AWARDS Awards will be mailed to the top four overall male and female finishers, and the top male and female finisher in each of the following age groups: AGE GROUPS Male/Female: 10-13 Male/Female: 14-18 Male/Female: 19-39 Male/Female: 40+ Have fun and make the race your own.
