ITAT Prepares for Capitol Day

Our ITAT students are excited for their visit to The Capitol! This month our students got to work learning about the legislative system, and finding their local legislators. The students discussed the importance of being aware of "legislative representatives and what they are and why they are and should be important to us as citizens of our communities, cities and state" (Auro Sosi ITAT Advisor). Our students are looking forward to meeting their legislators in person and sharing their knowledge about the harmful effects of vaping and tobacco use in the Pacific Islander community and Utah high schools. Our Island Teens are also busy practicing their elevator speeches on topics they feel are important and want to bring up to their legislators.
