My dear family, friends and ministry partners:
I am writing today to inform you of a decision that I have made with much prayer and counsel regarding my ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. I have served with InterVarsity for nearly seven years and many of you have followed, supported and prayed for my family and me for all or a portion of that time.
Considering the current health needs of Laina, caring for my daughters and caring for myself I have decided to resign from ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.
My departure date will be March 31, 2017.
I am confident the Lord is calling me to care for the ministry of my family as a priority. And as we go through this trial with cancer again, this departure from full time ministry will provide me more space to attend appointments, more time to care for our household and enjoy my family, and a much-needed rest.
What’s next?
There are a few different ways that I plan to spend my time as I transition from InterVarsity that will help us discern which way God is calling me vocationally.
1) Rest and get extra time with the Lord. I will take some retreats, do some writing and continue to meet with a couple of mentors.
2) Work part time on contract with Thrive Architects in Waukesha, WI.
3) Consider substitute teaching at public and private schools locally.
4) Consider more education in ministry or pursue my architectural license.
I am thankful for each of you and how you have supported and prayed for our family over the years. Although this ministry season is coming to an end, I hope that you will continue to follow my updates, pray for us in this transition and perhaps support me again as needed.
Continued support:
Those who are contributing financially: Please contact me to discuss any questions that you may have regarding my transition or donations.
Although I will complete my time with IVCF March 31st, consider continuing to give until the end of June 2017 so that all my deficit will be covered. If there are remaining funds in my account, they will be donated to a few of my colleagues whom I’ve requested to receive the donations.
I am sincerely thankful for each one of you. Only the Lord knows how the past 7 years have affected the eternity of faculty, students and other staff. We lift up the last 7 years to the Lord as a fragrant offering to Him. We served God together and I could not have been on the front lines at college campuses without your prayer and giving.
With much appreciation for you.
Your brother in Christ,
Todd Jerdon
