Our Island Teens Advocacy Team made the most of their 2018 summer  by sharpening their leadership skills.  Traveling to Ephraim and spending a week on the Snow College campus proved favorable for our young teen leaders.  Opportunities to network, communicate, plan, strategize and implement positive change illuminated these youthful gems-a complimentary combination to their inherint fun-loving, team building, determined, inclusive strengths. Fellow attendees remarked on how impressed they were by our ITAT. We are so proud of them!

ITAT learned some effective P.R.O. T.I.P.S and that leadership and change will require them to leap, focus, slide, run, pass, and hang on to one another as they identify what needs to be done. They are more determined to learn, educate and make remarkable moves to create positive changes in our community for community.  Making a difference-  this is what they do and this is their mission.

Let us not forget to mention ITAT is the 2018 SNOW FUN kickball champions!  Coming together, identifying their strengths, placing each other where they shined best, and utilizing their skills to the best of their ability was made evident as they came away with the BIG WIN! Way to go ITAT!

As we come away from this SNOW FUN leadership event, one of the great lessons our ITAT's were exposed to and learned from was adversity among diversity.  Learning to embrace differences and persevere, with a focus on making a positive difference, was evident. Their magnetic force drew others closer instead of further and united them together with their majestic ray of illuminating light, leadership, and warmth. After all, not every group was able to get the SNOW administration and leaders to dance and sing with them as our ITAT was able to.  They provide opportunities to unite in a display unique unto their very own.  Their smiles alone and zest for life was enough to light up and warm up a room- creating impact. We look forward for those that can join us in educating and making 2018-2019 a year to remember, enhancing the light within and bringing more light to the world around us. We are the difference!
