Pathways Rhythms July 2023 July Sabbatical Embodying our mission of rest, reflection, and renewal, Pathways is taking the month of July as sabbatical time. This means there are no daily prayers or individual retreats scheduled during the month of July. We will reopen to individual retreats August 1 and daily prayers will resume on August 15. All are invited -- those who have participated in Pathways' prayer community and those who may like to know more. Please note these upcoming changes to our Rhythm of Prayer : Iona Healing Prayer will be held the third Wednesday of the month, beginning August 16. Look for a new prayer format on Tuesday mornings, with Awakening Prayer replacing Prayer of Commitment. Breathing in Harmony with Sacred Time: A Yoga Practice for Every Body Appropriate for all levels of participants, this hatha-style yoga class is designed to help us live in harmony with what Christine Valters Paintner’s calls sacred time, that is, “time spent being present to the moments of eternity available to us whenever we choose to pause and breathe.” Mondays beginning August 28, 4:30-5:30pm Cost: $15/session Facilitator: Malinda Elizabeth Berry Space is limited to 12 participants Renewing Your Spirit in Nature's Bounty Spending time in nature is known to make us happier, reduce stress and increase our well-being. As we prepare to move from summer into fall, this four-part series will offer us time to wander outdoors as well as experience a harvest of creative spiritual practices. Saturdays, September 9, 16, 23 and 30, 10:00 - 11:30 am Suggested donation: $15-35 for each session Register for the ones you can attend - all four or only one. Facilitator: Dawn Stegelmann, Episcopal priest, spiritual director, seminary professor and retreat leader Space is limited to 12 participants each week learn more and register Living That Matters For Men Men, what kind of man do you want to be and how can you live a life that matters? In this half-day retreat, we will... examine the scripts we've been given, explore what healthy masculinity looks like, reconsider our purpose and roles in life. This retreat draws from Living That Matters: Honest Conversations for Men of Faith (Herald Press, 2023), which each participant will receive. Saturday, August 19, 8:30am - noon (begins with a light breakfast) Suggested Donation: $30-50 (includes the book Living That Matters) Facilitator: Steve Thomas Space is limited to 12 participants - 7 spots are still available Learn more and register Shake Off Stress Renew your body, mind and spirit through practicing Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) in a group. TRE is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. This group is for people who already know and practice TRE. Saturday, August 26, 10am - noon Suggested donation: $25-50 Facilitator: Julie Stegelmann Space is limited to 6 participants learn more and register Upcoming Creation Care Events August 12, 9-11am September 23, 1-3pm October 14, 9-11am November 11, 1-3pm Creation Care Events at Pathways offer regular opportunities to engage in caring for our natural world. Pathways has been working to restore and care for the woods and prairies on our property for many years and there is always more work to be done. We invite you to plan to join us for these times of working outdoors alongside others who are excited about earth care.
