Artists interested in public art commissions are invited to participate in the Public Art Listening Session hosted by the Cultural Council. Guest emcee Shawana Brooks will lead the discussion with a set of questions related to public art. Artists are encouraged to answer candidly and share their ideas for the advancement and enrichment of public art in the urban landscape. | |

This free 2-hr guided public art walking tour in the urban core will highlight both private and public art installations from murals and mosaics to historic memorials. Placed within public view, the tour provides an opportunity to view a selection of over thirty works fabricated by artists in a variety of visual art media. Sites for upcoming Art in Public Places projects will also be highlighted on the tour.
The group will meet at the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts. This is a walking tour so we recommend wearing comfortable shoes. A portion of the tour will include a complementary ride on the St. John's River Taxi and Tour.
