In February, 70 ITAT students and their advisors visited the Utah State Capitol where they did a scavenger hunt in groups to familiarize themselves with the Capitol. The students were also led on a tour through the Capitol to learn about the different rooms where legislators convened and passed laws.
Here are some of the bills that ITAT students have been learning about that are significant to youth and vapes:
HB 106: This bill limits the nicotine content for a non-manufacturer sealed product to 360mL container.
HB 128: This bill removes the parental consent requirement for youth to access smoking Quitline services.
HB 33: This bill requires anyone who has filed a report with the State Tax commission in accordance with the Federal Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act to file the report electronically.
HB 202: This bill prohibits student athlete NIL endorsement for tobacco, vaping, and alcohol products.
SB 61: This bill limits nicotine content for a manufacturer sealed product to 3% nicotine.
