We here at The Olde School House love our community and we have decided to give back to our local 4H groups!
We had a great experience last year purchasing lambs at the Eaton County 4H Fair. It was so fun to see the excited young faces that were selling their livestock after months of nurturing them. Part of what we came to appreciate is the community of adults that provide an atmosphere of growth and understanding of how agriculture and small businesses help each other.
It is what we stand for as well.
We want to introduce a support system to help our young entrepreneurs see the business side of Buy Local Eat Local.
Starting January 1st we will offer a premium service to return 5% of cash spent in our store to the 4H member.
When the 4H member comes into our store and brings a family member to “Shop Local” we will fill out a registration card and record the amount spent. From that date forward each time the 4H member returns with family we will add to the amount.
We will pay the Premium in June just prior to the Eaton County 4H Fair.
Keep in mind that 5% is for only cash or check payments. Credit and debit cards charge us 3% which does not go to support our keep it local mentality. This is our first attempt at a project like this so please be supportive and understand that we can can make improvements in the future.
