WHAT'S NEW IN SOUTHBRIDGE

Picture

GROUNDS and LANDSCAPING:

Southbridge has contracted with a company to control fire ants throughout the community. The treatment is guaranteed for one year.

Twelve oak trees identified as dangerous to property were removed by Ryan's Tree Service. The trees had trunks and limbs that were likely to cause damage during hurricanes and/or roots that were interfering with water pipes, pool maintenance, driveway and sidewalk pavers. The contract is a unit price that also allows for the removal of some diseased or stunted palm trees with stumps, some of which have yet to be removed.

The PLCA Design Review Committee did not approve the removal of at least two trees that the board and aborist agreed should be taken down.

If anyone in the community is aware of an oak tree causing damage or presenting a safety hazard, email your concerns, a photo, and the location of the tree to Diane Winters; the board will look into the issue.

POOL:

  • Check out the new pool clock that not only tells the time and temperature, but displays a barometer.
  • The new refrigerator is a welcome addition to the kitchen. Remove your personal cold/frozen goods daily.
  • The women's restroom/changing room has a new bench and full-length mirror.

COMMUNICATION BULLETIN BOARDS

Debbie and Bill Riley have volunteered to maintain the communications bulletin boards in each mailbox alcove and at the pool. Debbie relined the boxes with new "pin proof" backing. Note that the WiFi network and password are posted at the pool.

"PRINCESS FOR A DAY"  Heralded as Great Success

Thirty-nine Southbridge residents reserved spots for a champagne brunch, style show, and a cruise on the Naples Princess on Tuesday, February 4.  Fashions, provided by "Rebecca" from her Mercado store, were available for purchase on the second deck or at her shop. See photos of the event on the Southbridge Website.
