| JUNE NEWSLETTER 2019 Congratulations, Dancers! Spring Dance Concert was amazing! SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Katrina M. After dancing at Allegro for 12 years, Katrina has had many memorable moments. She has enjoyed every role she has danced, but some of her favorites were in Mr. Kennet's Nutcracker, playing a snowflake and a flower. Her favorite memories are learning pantomime and the polka from Mr. Kennet in Ballet 2. Katrina is off to New York City this fall where she will be attending Fordham University in pursuit of a BFA in the Ailey/Fordham program. In addition to dance, Katrina has a keen interest in mathematics and classics. As she explains, "I think we can learn a lot about who we are and where we are going as a society by reading and analyzing ancient texts." Katrina said the pre-professional program at Allegro led her to discover her passion for dance and created friendships that will last a lifetime: "Allegro has been a second home to me and the staff and students are like a second family." Congratulations, Katrina! As you begin your new adventures, remember that the home team is cheering you on! Audition for Performance Company - June 4! Meet Allegro's Student of the Month, Kate B! Twelve-year-old Kate was nominated by Miss Sarah (Jazz 3 and Performance Company) for her continuously positive attitude, hard work, and leadership. She always gives 110% in class. Kate has a kind heart, loves to cheer on her peers, and is always motivated to do her absolute best. When faced with new challenges this season, she conquered them with grace and confidence. Not only are Miss Emily's Ballet 5 students hard-working, focused, and a joy to have in the classroom, they are also just wonderful people. They consistently go above and beyond to be excellent leaders, role models, and helpers for all the younger students at Allegro. They were amazing at Spring Dance Concert and jumped in to help wherever they were needed. "I am so proud of our Ballet 5 students," said Miss Emily, "especially our seniors!"
