Will you join us for the 2-4-6 Challenge?
During this season of social distancing, we want you to be encouraged!
Hebrews 10:23-25
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
How might we continue to live out these verses when we are confined to our own homes?
We hope this 2-4-6 Challenge will allow us to keep “holding fast” and “meeting together” and “encouraging one another.”
The 2-4-6 Challenge is to meditate on 2 passages, make on 4 connections, and journal 6 prayers of gratitude each week!
Each Friday, we will send out 2 short scripture passages to meditate on throughout the week. One will tie in with Pastor Mark's sermon. As you think on these passages, know that others are reading or “meeting” with you! The 4 connections could be a call to a friend to share a prayer of gratitude, a Zoom meeting with your Discipleship group to talk about the week's verses, a text to a neighbor to check in, or a hand-written letter of encouragement to a family member. The goal is to just be intentional about reaching out; we all need community. And finally, in the midst of this hard time, we encourage you to journal 6 prayers of gratitude (one each day). They can be very short, thanking God for who He is or for what He has done.
That's it! 2 connections – 4 verses – 6 prayers of gratitude! May your hearts be encouraged by His people and your souls be nourished by His Word.
The first set of verses will come out in Ally's email on May 8 and posted on the public Olympia Christian Reformed Church Facebook page. Look on the Facebook page for additional ideas to join in this challenge and invite others to join us as well!
