 Thursday May 17:
The bus to Philadelphia will depart from the Graydon parking lot at 4:00.  Please arrive at 3:45. Arrival to Philadelphia is expected around 6:30 as there usually is rush hour traffic to contend with so please send your rower with some food for the ride! The rowers will check in at the hotel:

Stotesbury Rowers Rooming List 2018.xlsx

ROWERS: When you arrive at hotel and after collecting all your bags from the bus, please look for Mrs. Wong in the hotel lobby. She will be there to hand out room keys and chaperone contact info.

There will be coaches meeting at 8:00. Pizza and salads will be provided, but if you want other food options, rowers may eat in the hotel restaurant. Ridgewood crew will not cover any outside expenses. Mrs. Wong will communicate to the rowers via Instateam details on the Thurs and Friday night meeting rooms for the pizza and pasta party.

On Thursday, all rowers must be in there rooms by 10:00. Chaperones will check to make sure all are in their rooms and ready for Friday's races

Under NO circumstances can any rowers leave the hotel premises on Thursday from check in to curfew.

Friday May 18 and Saturday May 19

Rowers will be assigned chaperones and drivers to get them to their races. All rowers must arrive 2 hours prior to their race starts.

Bagels and light breakfast will be provided in the morning for those rowers that need to arrive between 6:00 and 8:00 am on Friday and Saturday. Bagels and egg sandwiches will be available at the tent after 9:00. Again, rowers are welcome to eat at the hotel prior to departure, but those expenses will not be covered by Ridgewood crew.

Lunch will be provided at the tent to all.

On Friday evening, May 18, there will be a rower’s meeting and dinner  at the hotel...due to race schedule, time will be announced on Instateam, but most likely around 7:30 in the hotel.  All rowers are required to attend and dress appropriately ie: casual nice.

Again, rowers cannot leave the hotel premises unless accompanied by their parents or chaperones under any circumstances.

!!! LATE BREAKING NEWS !!!

As per the news release below, the venue for the Stotesbury Cup will be moving to the Cooper River, Camden, NJ.

EVERYTHING is continuing as planned for Ridgewood Crew!! The Cooper river is only 10 minutes from our hotel and may even prove to be easier for transportation etc.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE AND DISTRIBUTION TO ALL COACHES, PARENTS, AND ATHLETES:

The 92nd Stotesbury Cup Regatta is moving from the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia to the Cooper River in Camden New Jersey.  Additional details to follow in subsequent Regatta Bulletins.

Ninety-two years ago, the Stotesbury Cup Regatta called upon scholastic coaches and athetes to gather the youth of our sport in what has now grown to become the world's largest scholastic rowing event.

Through war and weather, Depression and dynamic changes...the regatta has always persevered.  This year will be no different.

Last night and early this morning, the Schuylkill Navy's Regatta Leadership Team - together with our trusted expert advisors (all listed below) - made the decision to move the entire regatta 8 miles East with the help of our partners and long-standing friends on the Cooper River in Camden (under the leadership of Jamie Stack).

While the rain and storm forecast may not seem sufficiently severe to create a once-in-a-generation move, the amount of rainfall thus far and expected to continue will cause the Schuylkill River to rise and flow in such a way that we collectively believe it MAY not be possible to conduct safe racing.

While we "might" be able to hold the races on the Schuylkill, we believe we CAN stage the event in New Jersey.  We are clear that "CAN" is better than "MAY" for the 6000 young students under our care.

Additionally, our order of priorities is clear: Safety, Competition, and Everything Else after that.

Stotes will go on.

We know you and your teams will have MANY questions, and we will be communicating additional detals in the coming hours via a series of continued Regatta Bulletins as we work through the considerable logistical ramications.  We ask that you hold off posing individual questions to individual team members, as we may not be able to get to you (and they only serve to slow down process for executing this change).   Please trust that we will be working hard to get you everything you need; and, we are similiarly prioritizing the needs for communications to Coaches then Key Regatta Personnel/Volunteers/Equipment Providers then Parents.

You can help with this process by distributing the Regatta Bulletins as you receive them.  The only individuals on this Regatta Bulletin Distribution are teams with active entries and completed registration forms. Please therefore continue to push all communications to all assistant coaches, parents, and athletes as you receive them.

Together,

The Schuylkill Navy's Stotesbury Cup Regatta LOC Leadership Team
