PRACTICE SCHEDULE FOR NEXT FEW DAYS:

Friday 03/31:

Returning Boys and Freshmen (except Tommy and Dylan) will practice at the school 5:30pm -7:30pm 

Returning Girls and Tommy/Dylan will practice at PRRA 4:30pm - 7:00pm (Will be raining all afternoon, rowers should bring enough extra clothes to change right after practice)

Coaches Bob and Lauren will stay at the school.

Coaches Rich, Jackie, Boris at PRRA.

Saturday 04/01:

Freshmen Boys and Girls: - 8:00am - 10:00am. (Coaches Rich/Lauren)

Returning Girls/Boys: -

9:00am - 11:00am (Coaches Jackie/Bob/Matt/Boris)

11:00am - 12:00pm:  De-rigg/load trailer. Please notice: Attendance to the de-rigging/loading is mandatory for all rowers racing on Sunday 4/02, not exceptions!!

8 Graders: 10:30am - 12:30pm. (Coach Lauren)

REGATTA NEWS-Please read all the way through.  Lots of information!!!

Sunday looks like a beautiful day for our first regatta!  

Sunny. Low 39F/High 62F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.  The morning will be colder so please dress appropriately. 

The boat lineups for our regatta in Philadelphia are listed at the bottom of this email.  Important things to note:

  • Rowers need to be at the bus at GRAYDON by 5:45am for a 6:00am SHARP departure Sunday morning. Bagels will be served on the bus.  Rowers need to bring their own refillable water bottle.
  • Rowers are reminded to dress for the weather, warm jackets, bring sunscreen, extra socks and a refillable water bottle to every regatta.

  • Parking: Please review the parking information for the manny flicks located here: http://www.phillyflicks.com/spectators/parking/

  • Parent tent location: http://www.phillyflicks.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Satellite-View-of-Grandstands-to-Boat-House-Starting-Line.pdf.  This is the location of the Team tent.  The rower tent is located at a different location.  For families new to the program, the coach’s request that parents refrain from contacting their children at the rower tent.  For the first few regattas they will all have plenty of time to meet you at the parent tent!

  • Race Results can be found on the website: https://www.regattacentral.com/regatta/results2/?job_id=4836&org_id=0. 
  • Parents, siblings, friends are encouraged to come down to our Team Tent in Philly to cheer on the team and enjoy the food.  This week we will have weather appropriate foods - scrambled eggs, sausage, muffins - for breakfast; tomato soup, grilled cheese, hamburgers, salad - for lunch; and hot chocolate, tea, and coffee all day!

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The regattas are finally here!  Seems like we will have the warmest start for the first regatta in several years, so enjoy.  New parents, welcome! We look forward to seeing you at the Parent Tent about 500 meters from the finish line (see link above).   

To all, we need your photos and videos uploaded to the Google Photos site (see link below).  Not only is it important for having a great end of the year video for the banquet but the coaches love the video for coacking reasons, especially the start of the races.  Encourage your rowers to post their photos as well.    If you have any trouble uploading or have any other questions about media in general, please feel free to contact me.

Volunteers needed:

Attention: Volunteers needed in Philadelphia on Sunday 4/9 for the 4th Manny Flick regatta!  We need a total of 6 volunteers to help at the boat launch dock (3) and recovery dock (3) from 8:00 to 12:00.  All teams that race in the Manny Flicks are required to provide volunteers.  The good thing is that you will be sure to get a good parking spot!  If you have yet to help out with volunteering this year, please consider doing so.  Please email Katie at [email protected] or Ann Hida at [email protected].  Thanks!
