Visit http://campaigns.mabelslabels.com and search for Portola Valley PTO to start shopping. If you have questions, please email Stefanie Trenchard ([email protected]).
You'll give your kid's items a chance to return home AND support the PTO (who doesn't love bbqs, cocoa breakfasts & assemblies)!

Thank you to Sarah Vincenzo and her team of Art in Action volunteers - Renee Killen and Camilla Lynch for creating the wonderful Art Walk in the main courtyard at Ormondale. Thank you to all of the volunteers who gave their time all year to set up, clean up and teach these wonderful art lessons!

wild cats assembly
This past Friday ORM students enjoyed an amazing Wild Cats Assembly. The two shows gave the students an exhilarating, up-close look at the wild cats.
They saw an Ocelot, a Snow Leopard, a Fishing Cat, a Geoffory Cat (TK, K and 1) and a Cheetah (2-3). They learned so much about the cats habits, habitat and survival. They also witnessed the cats natural behaviors like climbing and leaping. Ask your child what they learned and which cat was their favorite.
It was truly an amazing show!

GREAT GRILLING!
Another great BBQ full of great food and REALLY happy kids. The last BBQ of the year always occurs when the 8th graders are in DC and we are able to invite the 5th graders to come on up for lunch. This is one of the favorite PTO sponsored events and always popular with the kids (and the parent volunteers!). CMS is lucky to have very smiley and polite students.
A HUGE thank you to the very talented Megan Koch and Karyn Bechtel for organizing and running these fun events all year. We all REALLY appreciated your enthusiasm and party skills.
And thank you to the incredible Grillmasters Colin Duwe and Josh Harmssen. You both certainly gave the impression of having done this for years and were always so focused! Our lovely prep and serving crew have been stupendous: Jenni Farrell, Sandi Engel, Gloria Sin, Michelle Bellomo, Tricia Christensen, Stefanie Trenchard, Megan Michael, and Karen Horn.

IS YOUR CHILD INTERESTED IN LEARNING FRENCH?
Registration is open! EFBA (Education Française Bay Area), a nonprofit organization promoting bilingualism, has opened registration for next Fall’s program, which will be held at Woodland School in Ladera (360 La Cuesta Dr, Portola Valley). Discounts are available for those that sign-up soon!
Classes are offered based on age and language level (native and non-native), and are held 2x per week for 1.5 hours each class session throughout the school year. The Francophone program is held on Mondays & Wednesdays 3:30-5:00pm and the French as a Second Language program is held on Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30-5:00pm. EFBA is a unique French school for children ages from 5 to 14.
Since French is a minority language in the Bay Area, they have created several programs aiming to offer sufficient exposure to the language to help children become bilingual effortlessly and willingly. They offer 3 interdependent programs throughout the year.
You can find more details about EFBA’s after-school program at https://efba.us/french-lessons-bay-area/.
If you have any questions about the Portola Valley program, please contact local PVSD mom, Anne Fazioli-Khiari, at [email protected], or EFBA’s Academic Program Coordinator, Emilie Nolf at [email protected].
