Hello Romantics, it's us. Do things look different around here? They should, because we've updated our website and Facebook page. We also made a change in direction. When we started writing together the plan was for one holiday romance and one summer romance each year. It didn't take long to discover that we like writing holiday stories a lot more. And from what you've told us, you like them too. So we're focusing on that most magical time of year. And we love it!

With three new books coming out later this year, we'll have six holiday love stories for you, including a new Garland Grove Holiday Romance. There's also a reworking of a sweet and poignant story Paul published years ago, as well as our first book set in Robin's hometown of Kansas City.

We're delighted you've chosen to come along. Part of our new focus includes regular email updates. You'll be the first to see cover reveals for our new books and hear news of future projects. We'll also be trying some new things, like The Things They Did For Love, which you'll find below.

Introducing Clear Christmas

Paul wrote and published this sweet story several years ago, and the storyline has always been one of Robin's favorites. It needed a little help, though, so we spent time this past year reworking it. Here's how Amazon describes it:

“I awaken and know exactly where I am."

Neal Flanagan has been sinking further and further into dementia’s grasp. Cut off from the world, he spends his days wandering around the care center’s outdoor exercise track. His only visitors are his long-time best friend and the woman he had a romantic relationship with years before. He knows neither of them.

Until a Saturday in December.

That’s when Neal wakes up with a clarity he hasn’t known for years. And a yearning to go home.

It won’t be easy, going home. Circumstances change. People change. Fortunately for Neal, two things never change:

Friendship. And love.

Especially love.

Clear Christmas is a poignant story that will nourish your soul. If you've ever wished for a second chance at life or love you'll adore this holiday love tale. You'll be the first to see the cover reveal later this month. Berni Stevens, our creative designer, has outdone herself. The setting is south Florida, and Berni captures the feel of Christmas in the Sunshine State. We can't wait to share it with you!

A Delightful (and Free) Summer Love Story!

Even when we're between books we enjoy writing stories with special meaning to us. That's how Searching for Melanie Moffitt came to be. Paul grew up in rural Maryland and spent many August evenings at the local fireman's carnival, a wonderful mix of delicious food and fun rides like the Tilt-a-Whirl and Ferris wheel.

Set in the 1970s, Searching for Melanie Moffitt is one boy's pursuit of the girl of his dreams. It's a breezy little story that you can read for free. It's mostly unedited and the cover is something we threw together. Still, it's a wonderful look back at a time many of us remember and cherish.

Jilted Women Edition

Don't Deny Grandma That Kiss!

When 92-year-old Helen B. Staudinger developed a crush on her 53-year-old neighbor, she did what we'd expect any well-meaning grandmother to do: she cooked for him.

In return for doing her best Betty Crocker impression, she was given a peck on the cheek. But when Staudinger found out that Bettner had a girlfriend, she went to his house to confront him and refused to leave until he kissed her.

When he turned her down, though, she went back to her house and grabbed her 350 semi-automatic pistol and started firing at his house.

What an Astronaut!

We've heard of "taking out the competition," but former astronaunt Lisa Nowack took the phrase just a little too far. When she discovered co-astronaut Bill Oefelein was dating another woman, she went after his new lady armed with a knife, a BB gun, a steel mallet, some rubber tubing, and a can of mace.

Nowack ambushed Colleen Shipman at the Orlando International Airport, planning to kidnap and kill her. Luckily for Shipman, she only got the mace and managed to avoid the other instruments of torture by way of a swift escape. Lowack may have been an astronaut, but this crazy move proves she was no rocket scientist when it came to love.

The full story is here.

That's all for now. Be sure to add us to your contacts so you won't miss future newsletters. See you soon! Love, Robin Paul
