Are these 3-5 year olds actually reading the Mexican Daily, or are they working together to circle the letter of the day? They are focused as always on the activity at hand. The skill with which our teachers engage these young students is inspiring to us. A father recently shared that he asked his son to stay home one day to keep him company, but Edgar said, "No! I am going to school."

Across the school day, children help each other by working together on a project or choosing an activity they tackle on their own. Self-direction and collaboration are foundational life skills.

From 9:00 to 2:00, Escuela is filled with the joy of learning for 3-4 year olds. At 4:00, students from the public school aged 6-11 come for English Language classes. We see them learning how to read about their families in English and hearing the difference between THursday and TUesday.
