VINEYARD NEWS - SEPTEMBER 2016 I am starting to understand how Noah must have felt; it hasn't stopped raining!!! Another ~200mm of rain for August! Regardless, work in the vineyard goes on. We have finished raking up the vine cuttings and the place is looking good. Regardless, of the cold and wet weather we have bud burst in the Chardonnay block. We continue this month with maintenance of wires and posts, ready for Spring to spring... Had a good couple of weekends at the Taste of the Blackwood and Nannup Flower & Garden Festival, where we met some great people and talked and tasted wine; thanks to those for coming and making our events so enjoyable! The 2012 Shiraz & Mulled Wine Recipe was a hit and so was the 2013 Shiraz , which has sadly sold out!! New to the website: There's a new sub tab Testimonials under the Home Page. NEW WINE RELEASE - 2015 SHIRAZ BRONZE MEDAL - PERTH ROYAL WINE SHOW 2016 Whimwood Estate 2015 Shiraz A Shiraz of great complexity, this wine floods the palate with vanilla, spice and fresh plums with lashings of black cherry. Long gentle tannins provide excellent length to a balanced, full flavoured wine with a refined spicy finish. This vintage Shiraz was harvested on 13 March 2015 and was in new and seasoned French oak for 10 months; bottled in January 2016. Alcohol 14%. Cellar 6-8+ years. Full Tasting Notes 2015 Shiraz Our Shiraz is from a single vineyard (no blending), estate grown and hand picked.
