Planning Permission granted for redevelopment of The Clonmel Arms

County Tipperary Chamber is most pleased that the planning permission for a 114 bedroom hotel in Clonmel town centre has been approved. Little did we know when we sat down with Michael Ryan a couple of years ago and looked at his plans, that this would come to fruition so quickly. We wish Michael Ryan and his business partners the best of luck. Special thanks to the County Council Planning Department.

Acorn Regulatory shortlisted in the 2019 Chambers Ireland CSR Awards

The shortlisting, Acorn Regulatory's first in the Corporate Social Responsibility Awards, is a recognition of the company's enlightened approach to remote and flexible working.  In introducing such an initiative, the company has been able to recruit and retain a a large team of professionals in a 'candidate scarce' recruitment market.  Acorn have written about our approach to work in the past here and here.

Acorn Regulatory joins companies such as Amgen, GSK, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Cisco and Dell as a finalist in the 2019 CSR awards.

The 2019 CSR Awards are partnered by Business in the Community Ireland, run in association with the Department of Rural & Community Development and kindly sponsored by BAM Ireland.

Please find below information on the possible Brexit scenarios as well as the link to the Brexit section of our website.

  • Should the UK Parliament accept the Withdrawal Agreement before the 31 October deadline, the UK will be granted a transition period up until 31 December 2020, with the features of the UK's membership of the EU remaining in place -i.e. the status quo
  • In the event of a trade agreement between the UK and EU in the future, following the UK's departure from the EU, preferential movement certificates will likely be required but in Ireland - these documents are issued by Revenue, not Chambers

Picture

Chambers Ireland Chief Executive Ian Talbot today (17 June 2019) welcomes the publication of the All Government Climate Action Plan and highlights the need for an all island perspective on how we transition to a low carbon economy.

'If we are to realise the collective goal of tackling climate disruption, investment from Government and collaboration with business must be at the heart of its delivery. As with any strategy, the implementation plan is key. This will be one of the most important programmes of activity undertaken by the State, involving an extraordinary number of distinct but interdependent projects.'
