BLUEBONNET FESTIVAL

We hope to see you at the Burnet Bluebonnet Festival this weekend,  April 9-11.  We sent you an email last week letting you know we will be a vendor at the event, selling raffle tickets for our annual gun giveaway.  The festival is always a fun event to welcome the arrival of spring.  In case you haven't checked out the event, here again is a link to the website.  BLUEBONNETFEST.ORG 

(Yes, there are wiener dog races and a pet parade at the festival!)

YOUR DONATIONS

As you know, we try to put the money we raise at our events to good use, one of which is giving a $2,000 scholarship to one graduating senior from each of four high schools in the area, Llano, Burnet, Marble Falls and Faith Academy.  Awarding of those scholarships will be coming soon, and we are hoping we will be able to make those presentations in person this year.  The 2020 presentation ceremonies were cancelled due to Covid-19.  Keep your fingers crossed; we like to see the smile on the graduate's face when we give them the money!

OUR NEXT MEMBER MEETING

Our next general membership meeting will be on Thursday April 20th at 7:00 PM at our usual place, the Hill Country Hall in Buchanan Dam. 

Guest speaker will be Texas Game Warden, Ryan Johnson. He will speak to us about new fishing and hunting regulations for 2021 and will share his personal fish and game enforcement experiences.

Refreshments will be served.​
Our meetings are open to the public.  Bring a friend!

As you can see from this photo below, the surface of Lake Buchanan is very far below the bottom of the boat launch dock at Llano County Park.  Unfortunately, the dock can’t be moved out any further.  As always, launch you boat at your own risk.












The dock at Burnet County boat launch is usable.  Thanks to members Bill Bundy and Butch Whitworth for keeping an eye on that dock for us.

Covid-19 slowed down our fundraising efforts quite a bit last year.  Several of our members recognized this and, without being specifically prompted to do so, made some quite generous donations to us.  Those folks know who they are.
