Happy New Year from ITAT!

It's a new year, and our resolution is still the same: To Unite and Empower Pacific Islander youth to live healthier lifestyles.

How? By providing culturally meaningful resources, education, and advocacy skills.

In January, our ITAT students prepared for Capitol Day on February 14th. On Capitol Day, ITAT will speak directly to legislators at the capitol about changes they want to see and bills that they want passed.

School Supplies vs Vapes: Can you spot the vapes?

Here are the bills we want to bring to legislators' attention:

HB 106: This bill limits the nicotine content for a non-manufacturer sealed product to 360mL container.

HB 128: This bill removes the parental consent requirement for youth to access smoking Quitline services.

HB 33: This bill requires anyone who has filed a report with the State Tax commission in accordance with the Federal Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking Act to file the report electronically.

HB 202: This bill prohibits student athlete NIL endorsement for tobacco, vaping, and alcohol products.

SB 61: This bill limits nicotine content for a manufacturer sealed product to 3% nicotine.

We're excited for our students to speak to legislators and have their voices heard. We're proud of them for representing and advocating for youth and for our community!
