Summary

A lot of spring snow falling in the mountains this week! We haven't seen it here in the town of Centennial, but the pictures we've seen from riders and the snow reports have told a story of great spring snow with higher amounts on the North/backside. Keep in mind it is Spring. So, short of catching a storm right on the heels, it is becoming hero/sticky snow quickly.

The week ahead is going to be fairly mild with Medicine Bow Peak's first above freezing temps coming Thursday into Friday. Moderate hit of snow forecasted for Friday night through Saturday with estimates of 6-12" inches.

Forecast for Medicine Bow Peak at 12,000'

Next 3 days: A dusting of new snow. Temperatures will be below freezing (max 29°F on Wed afternoon, min 8°F on Mon night). Mainly near gales.

3-6 Days: A moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Fri night. Total 3 day accumulation estimate of 6-12" inches. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 34°F on Thu afternoon, min 6°F on Sat morning). Winds increasing (moderate winds from the SW on Thu morning, severe gales from the W by Sat night).

6-9 Days: A dusting of new snow. Temperatures will be below freezing (max 28°F on Tue afternoon, min 10°F on Sun morning). Winds decreasing (severe gales from the W on Sun morning, calm by Mon night).

10-12 Days: Mostly dry. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 35°F on Thu afternoon, min 19°F on Wed morning). Winds increasing (moderate winds from the NW on Wed morning, near gales from the W by Thu night).

In order to shorten the snow report a bit, we have removed the rider reports section and just summarizing it above. However, we would ask you all to continue to send reports/photos/comments on conditions to [email protected] to create as accurate of a summary as possible. Photos with captions will still be included with these reports as we receive them.
