The teachers, staff, and school board members have all worked so hard to get our kids back to school in person. SECOND HARVEST

Virtual Food Drive - Dec. 1 to 18 Our holiday Food Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank has long been an important tradition at Ormondale.  Unfortunately, because of COVID their traditional food drive program has been placed on hold, which means we will not be able to have any barrels placed at Ormondale this holiday season. So now, we get to practice our Ormondale life skill of flexibility as we move to a Virtual Food Drive for 2020.

portola valley school district leads the way in outdoor learning

At a recent meeting of the National COVID-19 Outdoor Learning Early Adopter Working Group, San Mateo County education officials recognized the Portola Valley School District as an example of how to use outdoor spaces to safely reopen schools. In fact, they highlighted Portola Valley as the only public school district in San Mateo County that has already opened and is piloting outdoor classrooms.

The outdoor learning initiative supports schools and districts around the country in their efforts to use outdoor spaces as a strategic and cost-effective way to increase capacity while complying with physical distancing measures.
