The End of One Great Season and the Start of Another…

Quote of the month:

"Every day, every year, every new season is a reset from the last, and you are still hungry for success, to do things better and better."
- Fernando Alonso

Thank you so much to all of our parents and sponsors for supporting us through our longest and most competitive season yet! We could not have gone to the World Championship without all of you. In fact, we couldn’t make it a single day without you! Eagle Robotics is so grateful for your continuous support!

FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship

~Houston, TX~

In mid-April, Team 11364 Diamond Plate competed with 159 other teams at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship in Houston, Texas. A first in Eagle Robotics history, Diamond Plate received this opportunity by winning the Think Award and 3rd Place Inspire Award at their state competition! The team worked hard through three days of matches, learning from their successes and failures while also interacting with teams from across the world. It was great to see many different solutions by different teams to the same set of challenges. Team members were able to make connections and friendships with fellow competitors that will last for many years to come. Moving forward, Eagle Robotics has recognized the importance of being able to compete at Worlds and is already striving to return next season.

MAYking a Difference at the MAYker Showcase

To kick off next season by reaching out into the community, Eagle Robotics presented at Big Shanty Art Stations’ MAYker Showcase on May 4th. In addition to driving robots with members of the community, it was also a great opportunity to talk with and learn from others. We, as a team, made many valuable connections with others who are highly involved in the community. Specifically, we are already working with the Marietta Maker Station and the Art Station for future outreach. We hope that all of the connections we have made will lead to more instances in which we can reach out further into the community.

Kicking Off a New Season

On September 7th, over one thousand representatives of FIRST Tech Challenge, FIRST Robotics Competition, FIRST LEGO League, and FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams met at Kennesaw State University for a very exciting start to the season! This time of celebration and learning included many informational classes; some of which were taught by our members! The climax of this event came at exactly noon; when the FTC SKYSTONE game reveal occurred!

Teaching at Kickoff

At kickoff, team members Sarah McCune and Steven Baker had the opportunity to partner with Eli Peacock from Circuit Runners to teach a class on creating an Award-Winning Engineering Notebook. They hope that this class will continue to impact and improve the notebook performance of teams in attendance. Ben Mueller and Luke Spinetto taught a class on Introductory Blockly Coding. Through this, they were able to teach many team representatives about the basics of coding.

A Brief Summary on Our Last Season...

Last season, Teams 11364 and 7373 were successful competitors in the Rover Ruckus game. Team 11364 was able to compete in Houston, after advancing to Worlds from the state competition for the first time in Eagle Robotics history. In addition to this, Team 7373 was able to progress from the league tournament to the state competition. Overall, Rover Ruckus was an inspiring season. This year, the team members are looking forward to becoming a more competitive program with the ability to reach more people and advance further in the competition.
