The Great American Smokeout event challenges people to stop using tobacco and helps people learn about the many tools they can use to help them quit and stay quit. Island Teens Against Tobacco has the opportunity each year to participate in this great event. Our ITAT groups come up with their own activities for the smokeout and then implement them at their schools to encourage their fellow peers and teachers to stay tobacco free or to quit! Granger ITAT had a great time tabling at the 5th Annual Pacific Islander Health Week Fair. They collected surveys, educated participants on the negative effects of tobacco, and helped prepare and serve dinner to the 200+ attendees at the fair. | |
