HURRICANES ARE NOT A BREATH OF FRESH AIR!
Two years ago, Southbridge was one of the few communities ready for Irma. Even before the storm hit, the board had contracted with Estate landscapers to clean up debris; we were among the first to "get back to normal." Our full-time residents watched out for each other, keeping in touch via text messages and the Nextdoor app.
Now is the time to contract with a home watch service that will put up your hurricane shutters and suggest damage control after the storm. Ask your neighbors for recommendations.
If we have a "big blow," keep informed:
- Access the Southbridge Website. We will post update banners on the homepage and photos under "Quick Clicks and Pix."
- Download the free Nextdoor social app on your smart phone (for both iPhones and Android). Entering your zip code puts you in touch with your neighbors. During Irma, people living in 34134 found shelter with each other; shared chain saws, food and water, and generators; checked property damage for worried snowbirds; rescued lost pets.
- Watch for the Southbridge newsflashes. We plan to distribute updates directly to your email.
