Greetings from Team Captain Muffin!

Today marks the FIRST day of the Mardi Gras season! That means we get KING CAKE for every meal until the actual day of Fat Tuesday, which is March 4th this year. This morning we walked into our French Quarter shop at 736 Royal Street to discover HUNDREDS of baby ceramic King Cake Seedlings begging for homes.

We took one look at them and said, "Good luck with that!" They had run amok in the shop, making a mess and raiding our candy stash. Who would let these baddypants in their house!? Their pink hands and feet were covered in sugar and paint, which they had used to make a new sidewalk sign:

The good news is, while they are prone to a bit of havoc, they also sprinkle magic and luck! What's a bit of trickster chaos when you get a NOLA-born magical bestie that supports rescue opossums and bestows good juju upon you?

And we have the PERFECT pocket to carry your new baby in! The BRAND NEW, long-awaited Preppy Playing Opossums Sesame Varsity Sweater is now HERE!! And it has an opossum pouch in the front that goes all the way through for maximum comfort and functionality! The pouch fits at least 200 King Cake Baby Seedlings.

What game are we playing? All of them!!! Who's winning? Everyone!!! The elbow refs say so.

We're so excited to have you on the team!!! And of course, we're also excited the 2025 Calendars are flying off the shelves!! We're only 6 days into the year and supplies are getting low!!

Thank you so much for being you—for loving animals, people, and community. And thank you to all those reaching out to check in since the horrific attack on Bourbon Street. If you've ever been to New Orleans (or if you're here with us now!), you know this city is one big family—neighbors and visitors alike. You're part of that family too, and Mardi Gras is just as much about togetherness and taking care of each other as it is about beads and being a bit baddypants. We're supporting the Greater New Orleans Foundation New Year's Day Tragedy Fund and the GoFundMe landing page of verified campaigns by and for those directly affected; we're sharing them here as a resource if you're curious about those most affected and how to help them. We hope this Mardi Gras brings you and the whole NOLA family love, safety, and comfort.

xo,

your friends and teammates Muffin & Moonpie
