THANK YOU + PLANTS + PRODUCE

A sincere "thank you" to everyone who took time out of their weekend to come to our Spring Garden Season Kickoff Event on Saturday. The weather was beautiful, the free workshops were amazingly informative, and so many plants are happy to have new homes. Aside from our two food trucks not showing up, it was an overall wonderful day, and we are grateful to each one of you. We hope you learned some useful information and gained tools to add to your gardening repertoire.

The next time you're in the store, you'll have to share with me what you learned since I wasn't able to hang out and listen to the workshops. :)

ALL I NEED IS MORE PLANTS!

Does anyone else have this as their life's mantra? There is something about starting plants from seed, watching plants grow, and giving back to nature that is so fulfilling. I always tell Frank that if we still have grass in our yard then we have room for another garden, flower bed or wildflower patch! He (usually) amazingly replies, "Whatever you'd like, Dear." (Lucky me).

We currently have a wonderful selection of cool weather plant starts that are good to go in the ground right now. We are slowly bringing in some warmer weather plant starts, such as basil, tomatoes, and peppers.

Be mindful that we always have a risk of frost through mid-April, so be sure to check the expected low temperatures every evening. Anything close to 50 degrees (always look at the "feels like" temp.), you should cover plants such as tomatoes, peppers, basil, squash, etc.

We will continue to receive weekly plant deliveries, and will add new varieties as the season progresses.

Fact of the Week: Planting native trees, bushes, flowers and perennials contributes to the health and restoration of natural habitats, especially those in suburban and urban areas where most of the native species have been stripped from the land. Native plants also help sustain native butterflies, insects, mammals, birds, reptiles and more. They are also some of the easiest to grow since this is their natural climate/habitat.
