Hello and welcome!

This is the first edition of my new newsletter! Three weeks ago, I decided to shift my focus to diversity, inclusivity, and the need for the New Age and wellness communities to do better in these areas. At the time, I figured I could take a few months to plan my new direction. And then, seemingly overnight, everything changed. As protests erupted around the United States, we collectively found ourselves in a sudden moment of awakening and reckoning.

Rather than wait for a plan to formulate, I've decided to dive in and get the conversation going. In the coming months, I will be sharing Black voices, news from Black Lives Matter, guided meditations for activists, resources for allies, and more.

In the long term, my vision is to bring in more discussions on a variety of topics, such as: the need for more LGTBQ+ representation in yoga and wellness, how we can support Indigenous communities, and the need to address generational trauma. Because this is new, and I'm starting sooner than I expected, I welcome any and all feedback.

Thank you for joining me during this revolution! Together, we will use our voices to create unity, change history, and stand up for justice and Love. Please share this with anyone who might be interested!

The Video Everyone Is Talking About

If you haven't yet watched this video with author Kimberly Latrice Jones, get ready for a speech that will shake you up and wake you up. This is one of the most powerful and spontaneous speeches I've heard since the protests began happening. Her words are still reverberating within me. When I looked up the video to share, I realized I had not seen the full 7 minutes myself. What I saw on social media was only about half of it.

"Now, people are like, 'Well what did you get? What did you gain from the looting?' I think that as long as we're focusing on the what, we're not focusing on the why." - Kimberely Latrice Jones

Protest Energy is High Vibes!

Although 99% of the protests happening nationwide are peaceful, there is still a lot of news focused on the violence. Some of this is useful information - it has helped shine a light on police brutality. But a lot of it is sensationalizing what has been a largely peaceful and effective movement. In order to show you how BIG and uplifting the energy is, I'm sharing some of my favorite protest clips (click on the buttons to see the videos).

But first, checkout this photo of history being made. In Ceres, CA, which is the small town next to my own, a KKK rally was held in 1995. Last Sunday, 25 years later, over 400 people showed up to march in the name of Black Lives Matter. You could feel the energy of the entire town change when we stopped on the busiest street, took a knee, lifted our fists in solidarity, and held a moment of silence for all the Black lives lost too soon.

Thank you!

I'm so grateful you're here and part of this historic movement. I'll be back in a few weeks to continue the conversation!

Sincerely,
