ITAT NEWS AUGUST 2016 School is back in session and so is our Island Teens Against Tobacco high school groups! ITAT will be holding monthly meetings during the school year. Be sure to check out our ITAT website and like our new Facebook Page ​! ITAT INITIATIVES FOR 2016 ​ Our focus for the new school year will be on the following two initiatives: 1. Advocate to our Utah Legislatures to pass a law that will change the legal tobacco purchasing age to 21. Thirteen other states have passed this legislation. We hope to get Utah on board! 2. Get a ban on flavored e-cigarettes! "Newly published data from FDA’s 2013-2014 Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) survey found that 81 percent of youth aged 12-17 who had ever used e-cigarettes had used a flavored e-cigarette the first time they tried the product, and that 85.3 percent of current youth e-cigarette users had used a flavored e-cigarette in the past month". ​ Welcome to ITAT Bingham High!
