ITAT Goes Back to School

This month, ITAT facilitated an educational booth at a community event called “Teen Health Summit” . This year marked the 4th annual Teen Health Summit organized by Healthy Teens Coalition and Salt Lake County Health Department. About 30 teen youth attended the event and about 20 youth stopped by the Queen Center booth to listen to our tobacco and vaping education. The events Keynote speaker, Craig Scott shared his story about forgiveness and compassion. The event also included 4 workshops: LGBTQIA+, Mental Health, Physical Health, and Advocacy. In total, there were 16 booths for the youth to discover what resources are available in their community. The ITAT booth educated students about Queen Center and ITAT’s mission and goals, informed students about tobacco prevention and mental health, provided interactive activities such as spinning the wheel, shadow boxes, and prizes.  This was a great opportunity for ITAT to strengthen connections with stakeholders and community organization partners. We are excited to continue our advocacy work this year, and we are off to a great start!
