SUPERFOOD OF THE MONTH!

Magnificent Mandarins by Mrs. Fast's Second Graders

Did you know that mandarins have been around for over 3,000 years in China? From India, mandarins made their way to China where they became a staple of the Chinese diet. Then they made their way to Europe, North Africa and Australia before they traveled on to the other parts of the world.

This superfood is the master of oranges and can also be called a Cutie, Clementine, Satsuma, or Tangerine. They are small in size and easy to peel. Did you know that a worker in a factory can peel over 3,500 mandarins in one day's work? This is a lot of mandarins!

For more about mandarins and for the Mandarin Orange Strawberry Baked Oatmeal Recipe - please download the pdf.

Robert’s Supermarket has generously partnered with Ormondale School and will be providing all the fruits and vegetables for our superfood program and recipes.  Please support Roberts by shopping in our community.
