Dear Donor,
This summer's English Language camp, Ingles Divertido, was a huge success. We reached 26 families and plan to continue teaching the same students through an after school program starting in October. The staff was terrific, and the children had lots of fun learning. The following words from one parent says it all, "Muchas gracias por este proyecto tan maravilloso."
The outcomes included:
--The 6-8 year olds knew 870 words, and the 9-11 year olds knew 1438 words.
--The children made necklaces with each bead representing a new word. (Some of those necklaces were VERY long!)
--Children learned home-related vocabulary through designing 3-dimensional dream homes and presenting them in class.
--The children made puppets to use when having conversations in English with each other.
--Jeopardy was a popular game on the last day and helped everyone review the topics learned in English.
--The 6-8 year olds learned songs in English.
--The children learned new dances through English instructions.
