Bernie Rushe, Consultant & Managing Director, Cordatus Consulting – Measurement Systems Analysis – The neglected side of process validation.  When validating pharmaceutical processes, great store is placed on achieving stable process performance within pre-identified parameters e.g. customer specifications. However little store is placed in validating the measurement instruments taking those measurements! This presentation, with case studies, will focus on the value of performing measurement systems analysis prior to taking process measurements. It will also highlight the hazards of not doing so.

The inaugural Tipp FM Health & Wellbeing Expo in association with Clonmel Healthcare will take place in the Clonmel Park Hotel Sunday 28^th January 2018. It promises to be full of healthy tips, education, products and loads of fun so definitely a day not to be missed.

The Expo will take Health and Wellbeing to the next level by bringing the information directly to the community, providing FREE access to practical information, support services, influential guest speakers and much more that will offer people a real chance to start off the year on the right note.

The event, which is in association with Clonmel Healthcare aims to educate, motivate and encourage the people of Tipperary and its surrounds to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle as well as boosting their overall wellbeing. Speakers on the day include much loved sports pundit Brent Pope who will talk about achieving Positive Mental Health, Tipperary native, Professor Eamon O’Shea, Director of the Centre for Economic and Social Research on Dementia at NUI Galway will  advise on how to live well with dementia, Social Media and Digital Content Officer for the University of Limerick and mental health campaigner, Tony Sheridan will share his experience on how to balance social media in your life and Michael O’Doherty, a pioneer in the field of healthcare and best-selling author with over 26 year’s experience in guiding people back to good health will discuss the topic, what you think is as important as what you eat .

Muriel O’ Connor and Fran Curry have established themselves as one of the hottest tickets on the dancing scene in Ireland. As well as being award winning entertainers both Muriel and Fran are radio broadcasters commanding large loyal audiences.

The Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation

 has announced a new round of the tariff suspension/quota schemes and is calling for applications from manufacturers in the chemicals, microelectronic and related sectors. The tariff suspension scheme offers the possibility for such companies to import raw materials, components or intermediate products from outside the European Union free from tariff duty, if the item cannot be sourced in the EU. The tariff quota scheme is designed to address shortages in the availability of required materials within the EU and can be applied for in the same way as suspensions. 

Closing date and time for the receipt of the next round of applications is 5.30p.m. on Friday, 26 January 2018. Applications should be sent by e-mail to [email protected] and posted to the Department. Please note that late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.  

The suspension of duties on these applications, if they are successful, will come into effect 12 months after the application is made.

Employment Growth reflects need to reallocate funding to

Up-Skilling

  Chambers Ireland welcomes today's (16 January 2018) CSO figures denoting continued employment growth of 2.2% in the Irish economy in the third quarter of 2017.

Director of Policy and Communications Sarah Freeman said,

"These figures are a further positive sign and with unemployment decreasing, it is crucial that Government continues to build on the economic recovery and reallocates some of the funding currently vested in job creation schemes towards adult education and up-skilling within the workplace.

"The ability of our workforce to take on the new challenges that Brexit will likely bring is seen as tantamount to our success. This necessitates training staff in exploring new export markets and engaging with additional administrative procedures."

On Friday the 12th of January, the Southern Regional Chambers met Stephen Blair, Director of the Southern Regional Assembly to discuss the National Planning Framework. The meeting was  hosted by County Tipperary Chamber at Questum Acceleration Centre, Clonmel.
