centerline movement
will temporarily close our physical doors

let's flatten the curve of this thing!

Hello all,

Over the last week, we at Centerline have been weighing our options for thoughtful action during this COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

As a business owner, I take my responsibility seriously to act with intentional support of the greater societal good. In this crucial moment, that means doing everything we can to flatten the curve of this pandemic.

the time is now
to act in support of the greater good

We want to keep our community, and the greater Tucson and southern Arizona communities, at the lowest possible risk of exposure and spread. It is our hope that by temporarily closing now, we're making a choice that is abundantly care-full, and one that will allow us to possibly reopen in 2 to 3 weeks. We also understand that it could be 1 to 3 months or more.

This big decision carries heavy concerns for me.

concern #1

One concern is that we find ways to turn toward one another and care for one another throughout the call for social distancing. As you likely know, movement has been shown to boost immunity and adrenal health, among a myriad of other important resiliency benefits. Centerline views wellness through a holistic lens: we're in this to support the social-psycho-physical health of all of you. More than ever, we need to bolster the health and suppleness of our nervous systems and whole selves. Humans were built to move—and to move in community.

To this end, Centerline will begin offering:

  • Daily opportunities for live online classes with Centerline teachers
  • Recorded video content that can be accessed any time from the comfort of your home
  • Reduced-rate private sessions—in-person or via Skype or Zoom
  • The possibility of some small-group meet-ups at local parks or hiking trails (and continuing this offering even after the studio re-opens!)
  • Other creative approaches to moving well and being well together-while-at-a-distance we are always open to your inventive suggestions

concern #2

My other concern is for the well-being of our incredible group of Centerline movement educators, all of whom are self-employed business owners working as independent contractors. They work their passion and depend on classes and client sessions for their very livelihood — without the conventional safety nets. And for the well-being of our two employees, Hailey and Monica, who masterfully hold up the administrative infrastructures of Centerline.

If it resonates to you to support them, and if it's possible for your budget, here are two ways you can act:

  • Stock up your Wellness Living account credit now for future use, with no expiration date. Monica and Hailey can help you with that here.
  • Visit our GoFundMe page and contribute. Be assured that 100% of monies raised will go directly to Centerline staff/subcontractor support and relief.
